    Roger Federer ha señalado, tras obtener su tercer Abierto de Australia, que efectivamente pueden llamarle genio, y que Rafael Nadal es el jugador a batir en Roland Garros, su infierno por el momento. “Creo que soy el mejor jugador del mundo, me impongo a mis rivales de una forma diferente, creo que soy el mejor jugador de tenis del mundo, y pueden llamarme genio porque me impongo a muchos de mis rivales, a cada uno de forma diferente, ganando incluso sin jugar lo mejor que sé“.

    Sobre Rafael Nadal indicó que “ha crecido en esta superficie, después de ganar 60 partidos seguidos en tierra tiene una gran confianza, y sabe cómo hay que jugar, cubre la superficie muy bien, además es zurdo y todas esas combinaciones le hacen muy duro, es un gran jugador y yo disfruto mirandolo en tierra, me encantó jugar con él la pasada temporada, los tres partidos que tuvimos fueron fantásticos y disfruté mucho”.
