    Córdoba  Indoor Master Tennis 2007 Vilas anfitrión

    La tercera edición del Indoor Master Tennis 2007 que tendrá lugar el viernes 7 y sábado 8 de diciembre en el Orfeo Superdomo de Córdoba  contará con la participación de Carlos Moyá, Guillermo Cañas, Juan Mónaco y Agustín Calleri.

    El encuentro será apadrinado por Guillermo Vilas quien confirmó su presencia durante las dos jornadas del Indoor junto a otros  reconocidos representantes del deporte de Córdoba.

    A su vez, el público podrá recorrer una decena de stands de exhibición y venta de artículos deportivos.

    El Indoor Master Tennis 2007 será televisado por partida doble a través de los canales Fox Sport y Canal 7 para toda Argentina. Las entradas ya se encuentran a la venta únicamente en Boleterías de Dinosaurio Mall, siendo sus costos entre los $35 a los $125 pesos argentinos.

    Por tercer año consecutivo, el Indoor Master Tennis se realizará en una cancha rápida exclusivamente diseñada para tal fin en el Orfeo Superdomo donde se jugarán dos partidos por jornada al mejor de tres sets con tie break a partir de las 19:30 horas.

    Las dos últimas ediciones se destacaron por la presencia de David Nalbandian quien fue el flamante ganador de las jornadas 2005 y 2006 y que en esta ocasión será invitado y homenajeado ante el público cordobés.

    Vale recordar que en el primer Indoor Master Tennis que tuvo lugar el 10 y 11 de diciembre del 2005, la final se disputó entre David Nalbandian y Mariano Puerta, finalista ese año de Roland Garros con un resultado a favor del primero de 6/3 6/4.

    En la edición anterior, que se desarrolló durante tres días del 8 al 10 de diciembre del 2006, contó con la presencia de Juan Mónaco, Nicolás Lapentti, Nicolás Massú, Luis Horna,  José Acasusso y David Nalvandian, que venció a Massú en la final por 6/4 y 6/3.

    Más de diez mil personas ya disfrutaron del Indoor Master Tennis que se consolida en la agenda de los argentinos como la única oportunidad que tiene el interior del país de apreciar a los mejores tenistas del mundo. Para esta tercera edición se espera la presencia de aproximadamente siete mil visitantes.

    Andy Roddick y Nicolai Davydenko están en dudas para ir a  Shanghai, a pesar de figurar en la lista de los 8, Roddick  no parece estar al cien por ciento todavía, e incluso se esperaba que anunciara su ausencia aunque esto no se confirmó aún. Davydenko tiene molestias físicas y anímicas  por las acusaciones en su contra por las  apuestas y su mano negra en el tenis.

    De cualquier manera, el hipotético retiro de cualquiera de los dos jugadores abriría la puerta para Nalbandian, quien de no ser confirmado dentro de los 8 jugadores, seguramente no viajaría a Shangai en calidad de suplente, ya que en otra oportunidades prefirió no hacerlo.

    Nalbandian venció nuevamente a Federer, esta vez en el París Master Series en Bercy 

    David Nalbandian, con un juego más que contundente, le ganó nuevamente, en menos de dos semanas, al suizo Roger Federer, esta vez por los octavos de final del Masters Series de París.

    El cordobés se impuso por 6-4 y 7-6 para pasar a los cuartos de final del certamen. Ahora jugará ante el español David Ferrer, vencedor de Marcos Bagdatis.

    Esta mañana, Tomy Robledo venció a Guillermo Cañas y de esta manera ningún argentino pudo clasificar este año para el Masters de Shangai.    

    Los arreglos a la orden del día

    El Masters Series París , ha quedado a merced de los rumores de “arreglos” de partidos ligados a las apuestas por internet. En esta jornada, Diokovic, número tres del mundo, cayó hoy frente al veterano  Santoro, lesionado y perdido en las profundidades del ranking de la ATP, alimentando los rumores y las sospechas.

    El número tres del mundo tenía sobradas excusas para explicar su nulo rendimiento contra Santoro. La larga temporada, su reciente operación en la boca y su falta de entrenamiento le dejaron “al 30 por ciento“, según sus palabras. Argumentos convincentes que no han servido para desviar los rumores.

    La Federación Francesa de Tenis (FFT) ha puesto en marcha un sistema experimental para tratar de detectar el fraude en las apuestas deportivas. Los partidos son vigilados por expertos para detectar posibles anomalías y, además, se ha prohibido que se apueste por internet en el recinto de Bercy. Esta segunda medida ya ha dado sus frutos, puesto que el pasado lunes, mientras que las apuestas de algunas webs llegaban ya a los siete millones de euros, cuatro apostantes clandestinos equipados con ordenadores portátiles fueron expulsados del omnisport tras haber sido detectados por agentes del espionaje francés.

    La FFT llegó también a un acuerdo con los principales sitios de apuestas en la red para que le informara de movimientos anormales sospechosos. Con este arsenal, pretende dar ejemplo y perseguir toda sombra de sospecha que pueda desacreditar a un torneo que busca recuperar prestigio en el calendario internacional. Bercy nunca ha sido el torneo favorito de las grandes estrellas. Situado a finales de la temporada y a una semana del Masters de Shangai.

    Sharapova producirá una serie para la cadena CBS

    María Sharapova producirá una serie para la cadena CBS. El programa estará ambientado en el mundo del tenis femenino profesional y será escrito por Jacop Epstein, autor de Tiburón.

    Sharapova, nacida en Siberia el 19 de abril de 1987, está ubicada actualmente en el quinto puesto del ránking mundial de la WTA.

    La rusa, de 1,88 metros y 59 kilos, fue número uno del ránking mundial en agosto de 2005 y ganó dos torneos de Grand Slam, Wimbledon, en 2004 y US Open, en 2006. Este año, Sharapova perdió la final del Abierto de Australia.

    Copa Petrobras Uruguay - Coria no juega Montevideo

    Guillermo Coria comunicó oficialmente a la organización Uruguaya que no viajará a Montevideo. El tenista argentino aseguró que no se siente pronto para regresar a las canchas luego del dolor lumbar que lo obligó a abandonar en Belo Horizonte.

   Coria perdió 6-3 el primer set ante Juan Pablo Brzezicki y abandonó su partido inaugural en la etapa de Brasil. Luego de entrenar en Buenos Aires, el ex número tres del mundo decidió tomarse unos días más para completar su recuperación física.
 
    El argentino había recibido una de las cuatro invitaciones especiales para jugar en el cuadro principal del torneo que se disputa desde el lunes en el Carrasco Lawn Tennis y que reparte US$ 75.000 en premios.

    Los uruguayos Marcel Felder y Federico Sansonetti, además del argentino Mariano Puerta (finalista en Roland Garros 2005) y el brasileño Thomaz Bellucci recibirán las invitaciones para el cuadro principal.

    La  ex tenista  rusa,  Anna Kournikova dejó ver su magnífico físico en  la playas de Miami durante un paseo en lancha con su novio, el cantante español Enrique Iglesias. Fue ayer viernes, cuando un fotógrafo logró tomarle algunas fotos.
