    Roger Federer logra finalmente su primer título Roland Garros

    Federer recibió la el trofeo de manos de Andre Agassi, los únicos campeones de los cuatro torneos del Grand Slam en superficies diferentes en la era moderna del tenis profesional.

    ”Que él me haya entregado el trofeo es demasiado, fue muy lindo para mí venir aquí este año”, fue muy difícil, pero esto es algo mágico, puedo estar tranquilo, por fin gané Roland Garros “, fueron las palabras de Federer.

    “Esta debe ser la victoria más importante de mi carrera, esto me quita mucha presión. Ahora puedo jugar en paz por el resto de mi carrera”, reconoció Federer que con la conquista en Roland Garros se convirtió en el sexto jugador en la historia en conseguir los cuatro Grand Slam.

    Con respecto a lo que fue el partido,sostuvo: “Entré presionado pero por suerte el primer set me lo lleve con facilidad. El segundo fue más peleado, pero jugué el mejor tie break de mi carrera. En el inicio del tercero estaba muy nervioso, porque me di cuenta de lo cerca que estaba. El último juego fue casi imposible de jugar para mí, sólo quería sacar bien. Fue una montaña rusa de emociones“.

    Tambien Federer agradeció al público local, y dijo que se sintió muy emocionado por el apoyo que le brindaron. “Fue todo muy emocionante, el título, el apoyo de la gente, no pude contener las lágrimas“, sostuvo el número dos del tenis mundial.

    Roland Garros no parece estar destinado en los últimos años para los número uno del mundo, Nadal lo ganó en cuatro oportunidades como tres y dos del ranking de la ATP, y ahora Federer también lo logra como número dos, luego de perder en la final en los tres últimos años.

    Roger Federer se enfrentará mañana ante Robin Soderling que derrotó a González por 6-3, 7-5, 5-7, 4-6 y 6-4 por la final del abierto frances, luego de vencer Juan Martín del Potro 3-6, 7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 6-1 y 6-4.

    Federer esta confiado en lograr su primer Roland Garros: “Me siento bien, voy a entrenar un poco mañana y estar listo para la gran final,  con Del Potro, fue un partido duro, su servicio y su derecha fueron una presión importante para mí, sentía que cuánto más largo se hiciera el partido más confiaba en mis dotes físicas y anímicas“.

    “No hay ninguna final de Grand Slam sencilla, porque el que está del otro lado está en la forma de su vida. No puedo subestimar a Robin, ya estuve en esta final, no sé si es una ventaja, porque no fui capaz de ganarla, pero sé que jugaremos un buen tenis, porque él jugó muy bien contra González”, concluyó Federer.

    En un día de verano donde el termómetro acusó 32 grados, el tenis nacional se vio deslucido con las derrotas de Calleri, Gaudio, Chela y Salerni. La única que evitó la pronta despedida fue la tigrense Gisela Dulko que le ganó a la austríaca Paszek 6/1-6/3.
 
    No empezaron bien, un poco el calor, otro la calidad de sus adversarios, algunas molestias, pero ayer los argentinos cayeron estrepitosamente en sus respectivos partidos.

    El ambiente nublado para Federer se transformó por un rato en una tarde soleada y optimista en la que el suizo levantó un 2-0 en contra para igualar en dos con puntos de gran factura.

    “¡Roger, Roger!”, comenzó a entusiasmarse buena parte de los 14.000 espectadores presentes en el estadio, en un claro reflejo de por dónde iban las cosas; el primer Roland Garros de Federer importaba a los locales mucho más que el cuarto título consecutivo de Nadal.

    Pero entonces se escuchó la voz de un aficionado con inconfundible acento español: “¡Vamos Rafa, que es muy malo!”.

    Y todo se terminó. Nadal se adelantó 3-2 con un furioso drive paralelo que limpió el último rincón de la esquina, mientras Gabriela Sabatini, Arantxa Sánchez, Borg, Vilas y Nastace, disfrutaban del sol en la primera fila del palco.

    La final estaba clara, aunque Federer lo intentara, cada vez más desesperado, no encontraba manera de desequilibrar a Nadal, impiadoso desde el fondo e impiadoso en el anclaje de su rival, dos metros por detrás de la línea de base.

    El sol se iba y volvía, pero Nadal se escapaba, ganaba el segundo set por 6-3 y se adelantaba 5-0 en el tercero tras quebrar en el primer juego de ese parcial. El rostro de Mirka Vavrinec, la novia de Federer era de terror.

    Luego, una derecha larga de Federer y un 6-0 final para la victoria de Nadal en una hora y 48 minutos.

    Federer llegó a la red con rostro compungido, Nadal lo palmeó con cariño, casi con pena y por primera vez en su carrera, el español no se arrojó al suelo para celebrar el título.

    Una señal de respeto a la tercera frustración consecutiva del número uno en la final de París ante Nadal. Eran las 17:05 de la tarde y Federer comprobaba una vez más, que Nadal es invencible en el polvo naranja de cualquier lugar del mundo.

    Ivanovic, una nueva campeona en paris

    La serbia Ana Ivanivic afirmó que: “todavía no me creo esto”, minutos antes de recibir el trofeo Suzanne Lenglen de manos de Justine Henin. La cabeza de serie número dos tenía ya asegurado antes del inicio de la final el número uno del mundo, un puesto que será efectivo a partir del próximo lunes, debido a la retirada Henin.

    Todavía con lágrimas en los ojos, Ivanovic, de 20 años, escuchaba el himno de Serbia que, por primera vez, sonaba en Roland Garros. “Algunos han atravesado toda Europa para llegar a esta final, se lo quiero agradecer. Ha sido increíble para mi, cuando iba en bicicleta a mis entrenamientos soñaba con este momento y con este ambiente ha sido todavía más maravilloso“, ha asegurado ante un estadio lleno a reventar.

    Por su parte Safina, decimocuarta del mundo, aseguraba con humor que “le tocaba ganar” a la serbia, porque disputaba su tercera final de un Grand Slam, al tiempo que se quejaba de que el clan de Ivanovic había sido un poco ruidoso durante el partido.

    La serbia se ha mostrado bastante superior ante una rusa que no tiraría el partido en ningún momento y que desplegaba un duelo de gran calidad entre ambas.

    Pero Safina, fiel a su estilo, ha sabido reponerse y volver al partido, romper dos veces el saque de su rival, igualar la contienda a cuatro juegos y dar emoción a la final hasta el final. La clave del partido ha estado en los errores no forzados cometidos por Safina a lo largo de las dos sets.

    La presión era en cada momento más insoportable para Safina, que servía con 5-3 en contra. Ivanovic, disponía de tres bolas de partido en ese juego. Los milagros para Safina se habían agotado y la serbia cerró el partido a la primera oportunidad, abíéndose las puertas hacia la gloria.
